SHARE DAYS:
We would like to remind you that we do have share days at school, and they are every Thursday and Friday☺. Please help your child chose ONE item to bring to school that day. We have the children talk about their sharing at small group circle and then later in the morning there is a “share area” where they can put the item for friends to enjoy!!

LEARNING CCONCEPTS AT SMALL GROUP CIRCLE: (on 3-5 side @9:00 am daily) Starting September we are back to planning our learning concepts to be implemented each day at small group circle. In the monthly newsletters it will state the specific concepts we will be focusing on at that time in order to keep up on our assessments of each child’s development. The concepts are always being presented in our curriculum activities set up each school day, but this is an extra attempt to expose the children to a learning opportunity while in a small group setting. See September concepts below: September 1- September 16: *Name recognition-visual *Count 1-10 forward & backwards *Learning friends’ names at school *Know first letter of one’s name September 17-September 30: *Matching *Patterning *Rhymes/songs *Scissor skills
Again, these concepts are for this month and as the children master these we can continue to challenge them throughout circle with additional concepts. If you have any questions then please feel free to see Julie.

OUTDOOR ART:
Here is a fun outdoor art activity to enjoy……… ^^Spray Paint Surprise^^ Collect a number of plastic spray bottles so that you have a variety of colors to create (transparent pump types). Fill each spray bottle with water mixed with paint or liquid water color. Attach jumbo pieces of paper to a fence with clothespins or packaging tape. Allow your child to use the different spray bottles to squirt paint onto the paper. Let him/her observe what happens as the colors hit the paper and drip downward, mixing to form new colors. Enjoy your creation!!

FALL REMINDER Now that the summer months are over….we are geared up for a new school year☺ This is to remind you that we have small group circle each morning at 9:00 am-9:30 am and would like to see the children arrive on time for this activity in order to start their day fresh!!! If you need to arrive after circle time starts then Miss Melody will greet you in the hallway by the sign in books. She will help your child say goodbye to you and then she takes him to his circle teacher☺ Thank you for your cooperation.

Another reminder...
Full day parents: It is very important for your child to feel comfortable at rest time. We are required to provide all full day children with a resting/nap time each day. All full day children must bring their nap items to school each week (on the first day), and please label each item with your child’s name. We will use a sharpie pen to label any items without names. If your child has a special blanket/item that needs to come home each day then please let us know and we can make sure to get it back into the cubby after nap time☺ Thank you again for your cooperation.

GRANDPARENTS DAY!!!
Sunday, September 7th is an extra day for the grandparents in our lives….It is Grandparent Day!!! There are a variety of fun things you can do to acknowledge these special people and make them feel proud to be a grandparent. Here are a few ideas…. *Send a hug—have your child lay down on his/her back on top of some butcher paper. Trace around your child’s body-just under arms and around including head. Let your child decorate his/her body tracing with pens or collage items. Lastly fold arms in at the elbows and send in the mail to the grandparents!! When they open it up there is a great big hug from their grandchild!!! *Paint a shirt-have your child design a special I Love You shirt with their handprints and fabric paints!! *Create a picture calendar-we all love to receive pictures of our loved ones☺ Create a calendar with each month including a photo and some artwork produced by the grandchildren!! Be creative to try different areas of art-watercolors, collage, drawings, paintings, chalk, etc. You can provide projects that are theme related to that month/season. There are many websites that provide fun and exciting projects!!
